Senate Needs to Stop the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, H.R. 1

Creating a stimulus package that has a mix of infrastructure spending, spending towards renewable energy and tax cuts towards the majority of America is what we were promised; the bill that came out of the House is a travesty and needs to be stopped.

While the bill has some good in it, the Democrats are packing it with an unbelieveable amount of pork. This is exactly the reason I firmly believe in the line-item veto. Any pork project that Congress believes in could be implemented by a two-thirds vote, but the majority of this waste could be avoided. This kind of spending has been a problem with both parties and needs to be stopped.

If Obama wants to be considered as bi-partisan and a uniter, he needs to re-evaluate this bill.
